Wild Grace: a pictorial pilgrimage to Clear Creek Abbey

Now available direct from the publisher.
At the turn of the millenium in 1999, a determined group of thirteen French, Canadian, and American monks left behind their venerable centuries-old monasteries in France to fulfill a long-held dream of the Americans among them: to establish the first Benedictine monastery for men of the Congregation of Solesmes on American soil. And they have succeeded. No longer a fledgling monastery but a fully independent abbey, Our Lady of the Annunciation of Clear Creek Abbey has doubled in size twice with young vocations and is still growing, despite the hardships of monastic life in a partly unfinished church. (Anyone wishing to remedy this situation may contact the Abbey and inquire about donating to the construction fund.)
From the humble beginnings of a converted horse barn twenty miles from the nearest country town, a strange miracle is taking place. Those of us who are privileged enough to live nearby experience not only the haunting beauty of the monks' ancient liturgies sung in Gregorian chant, but the powerful, unique drama of the wild Oklahoma landscape that surrounds and challenges us with its harshness, yet sometimes surprises us with its glorious loveliness.
From a collection of personal photos taken over the space of years, I have assembled a few favorites and added quotations from Scripture in both Latin and English to provide a little glimpse into a very blessed way of life. May it provide you with food for prayer and meditation on truth, goodness, and beauty. Christus regnat, Christus vincit, Christus imperat!

Wild Grace: a pictorial pilgrimage to Clear Creek Abbey features over twenty colorful photos taken in and around the Abbey between 2013 and 2020, including one during the epic Three Hearts Pilgrimage in October 2020 that was taken by one of the monks. Embellished with inspiring quotations from Sacred Scripture, this photobook will entice you to visit or serve as an inspiring souvenir of your pilgrimage to Clear Creek Abbey, the only Benedictine Abbey in the United States belonging to the famous Congregation of Solesmes, France.
Situated in a rugged rural area of northeastern Oklahoma, Clear Creek Abbey is home to approximately sixty monks, dedicated to the practice and preservation of the traditional Catholic liturgy sung in Gregorian chant.
A portion of the proceeds of Wild Grace will go to help support the monks at Clear Creek Abbey.
